TOWN OF CRYSTAL
| Placed at the centre of a rich territory of Etruscan origin, Colle was founded near the mount where raises the medieval castle, just near the river. During the XII century, the economy was found on the paper-mills, near the Elsa river. The castle is surrounded in some parts by the wall of the XII century included the Arnolfo di Cambio house, the great Colligiano architext and sculptur. Today the town is divided into two parts: Colle "bassa" (lower town) modern and industrial and Colle "alta" (higher town) with medieval houses and tower. |
